What Each Newborn Needs

By Susan

A new baby on the way causes pressure to every member in the family especially to the mommies. Basically it’s all about adjustment on everything, schedule, budget and the additional items to buy for the baby. How I wonder how a tiny little thing could need so many things. But above all these, it is still essential that we only buy the most important ones. Of the thousands things that you can purchase for your little one, it is best to purchase only what he or she needs.

Crib or Baby Bed The place where a baby should sleep will be chosen by both parents. If the two of them are comfortable with the thought of co-sleeping then a crib will no longer be necessary. On the other hand, there are some who are not comfortable with this thought so they prefer to put the baby in a crib. Any place will do as long as the baby is comfortable and safe.

Car Seat The moment your baby goes out of the hospital, the need for a car seat is already there. It is for the baby’s safety and the parents peace of mind. It is a choice whether you want to buy a car seat system that easily disassembles or one piece for each car. The choice is yours but choose one suitable for your car and one dependable enough since we’re talking about car safety here.

Stroller or Pushchair Like the car seat, a stroller or pushchair is worth investing in. It is one product that your child will use from birth until he’s old enough to handle her or him self. One good product that I can recommend is the Phil and Teds Doubly Buggy pushchair. It will make your baby comfortable as you take a walk and it offers more beyond comfort.

Onesies If there is one piece of clothing needed by every child, its the onesies. Your baby can wear it with anything and in any weather. It can be worn alone during warmer days or under heavier clothing during colder days. Wear it with anything!

Diapers There are two types of diapers, the cloth and disposables. You have the chance to choose the one you are comfortable of using, the most important here is your baby will have the advantage from using diapers. It will keep him or her free from wetness.

Sling If you are thinking of baby wearing then having a sling is the best thing to do. The baby sling will make your baby comfortable and you can also use it for discreet breastfeeding. It is available in assorted designs and sizes.

First Aid Kit Your first aid kit should contain all the essentials for everyday boo-boos. Things such as thermometer (digital is better), infant medicines, and band-aids should be available. It is also advisable to put an emergency number card containing all the important telephone numbers like your doctor’s and nearest hospitals.

These are the what is usually listed, you can still add more to these depending on your needs. Just always remember never to go overboard because most of the expensive things you will buy will only be used for a fraction of time.
